The International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) is being brought forward via three separate applications:-

  • IAMP ONE (Phase 1) – a planning application was submitted in January 2018 and planning permission was granted in June 2018.  The content of that application can be viewed via Sunderland City Council’s planning portal following this link: - and using the reference 18/00092/HE4.  Construction works have commenced and applications for the approval of reserved matters are being submitted and considered by Sunderland City Council as the development of the site comes forward;
  • IAMP ONE (Phase 2) – a planning application is due to be submitted later in 2019 for a single unit for automotive and advanced manufacturing uses for the final remaining area within IAMP ONE;
  • IAMP TWO – a Development Consent Order (DCO) will be required before this development can proceed.  This will be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate who administer applications of this nature on behalf of the Secretary of State.  It is expected that the DCO application will be submitted later in 2019.  You can read more about the DCO application and the examination process by visiting the National Infrastructure Planning website, and more about the IAMP TWO application by clicking here.
